Elkon Mining Metallurgical Plant (Elkon MMP) Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)
The company was created in November, 2017 to develop the mineral fields located in the Elkon uranium ore district, which is one of the largest globally (319 thousand tons of uranium, or 6% of the world’s extractable reserves). The company conducts geophysics surveys, uranium ore exploration, development and processing operations.
The company is planned to remain in the “sleeping” mode up until December, 2019. If the macroeconomic climate improves, the decision to renew the active FEED operations will be on the table again.
