RUSBURMASH to Carry Out Engineering and Geological Surveys at Udokan MMP Construction Site
«Under the contract, our experts will carry out drilling of 1000 running meters at the construction site of the technological complex of the future mining and metallurgical plant. Confirmatory boreholes are necessary for the customer to develop the final space planning solutions and calculate the bases, foundations and designs of buildings and structures planned. Given the complexity of the construction site geological sections, we will use diamond tools in the well construction,» said Gleb Nosyrev, Deputy Director General for the Development, RUSBURMASH, JSC.
Let us recall that earlier RUSBURMASH, JSC completed drilling of wells for further installation of the pile foundation for the Udokan MMP energy infrastructure. Approximately 2,000 large-diameter wells were constructed for two substations. The quality and terms of work execution completely satisfied the customer, so a decision was made to continue cooperation.
The experts of RUSBURMASH, JSC have relevant experience of work in the severe mining and geological conditions of the northern regions. For example, wells are being drilled for Khiagda, JSC under permafrost conditions in the Bauntovsky-Evenki District of Buryatia; under the order of The First Mining Company, JSC, surveys are being carried out on the Yuzhny Island of the Novaya Zemlya Archipelago. Let us recall that the Udokan deposit with over 26 million tons of copper is the largest copper deposit in Russia. The deposit development operator is the Baikal Mining Company. The commissioning of the first stage of Udokan MMP is scheduled for 2022.
