During a working trip to Krasnokamensk, Acting Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory Alexander Osipov visited Mine No. 6 construction site. Deputy Director General of PIMCU Ivan Kiselev reported on the facility construction status. The main step-down substation and road construction has been completed, hydrogeological wells are being drilled. The mine water treatment complex construction continues — concrete for the foundations is poured, the wall frames of auxiliary buildings and structures are erected, and external supply lines are laid. According to the plan, treatment facilities with a capacity of 1300 cubic meters per day should be commissioned by the end of 2019.
Particularly, Alexander Osipov said: «The future of Krasnokamensk is related to the Argunskoye and Zherlovoye deposits development and Mine No. 6 construction. All my actions are aimed at ensuring timely financing. It is great that PIMCU organizes the work in such a way that in some positions we are even ahead of the schedule. I also directly communicate with contractors and subcontractors who do the work and see that there are no risks that could cause a failure to timely complete the work. We are discussing further necessary actions at the federal and regional government level. We are working with the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, in order to allocate the next RUB 1.9 billion for the construction. I expect that we will be able to begin Mine No. 6 commissioning in shorter terms».
The Head of Trans-Baikal Territory also noted the importance of the district and city economy diversification. An important role is played by PIMCU implemented projects, including the mining machinery production, agricultural machinery production and repair, etc. The social infrastructure development financing will continue. «My first working trip, as late as I became the Acting Governor of the Territory, was precisely to Krasnokamensk. For me, the issues of the city and PIMCU development remain one of the most important,» he stressed.
The Head of the Trans-Baikal Territory examined social facilities that are being repaired as part of implementation of the social development plan for the economic growth centers. These particularly include a boarding school for cadet class students, created on the PIMCU initiative at school No. 1. It is planned that about 100 children will live there by September. The building has the heating system replaced, the living rooms and amenity spaces, medical and dining room, dance and assembly hall are being arranged, other works are scheduled.
