JSC Khiagda visited by strong delegation of the People's Khural of the Republic of Buryatia
The delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the People's Khural, Secretary of the Buryat regional branch of the party "United Russia" Vladimir Pavlov. The working meeting was held in the conference room of the shift camp of JSC Khiagda, attended by Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy of the People's Khural Alexander Stopichev, Deputy of the People's Khural Khanhay Mongolov, Head of "Bauntovsky Evenkiysky District" municipality Nikolai Kovalyov, Chairman of the District Council of Deputies Alexander Ochirov.
The meeting focused on the socio-economic development of Bauntovsky Evenkiysky district. As is known, a cooperation agreement was concluded in December 2012 between the Government of the Republic of Buryatia and Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation. According to the agreement, JSC Khiagda became a part of Rosatom consolidated group of taxpayers, thus increasing payments to the republican budget. In 2014, the consolidated group of taxpayers paid 76 million rubles in taxes, most of which were used to address infrastructure issues of Bauntovsky district.
"The authorities of the Republic of Buryatia understand that we need good infrastructure in order to continue the development, so the funds are primarily invested in road construction, repair of bridges in the area from JSC Khiagda production site to the border with Trans-Baikal Territory, as well as in reconstruction of power grids in the region"- said Alexei Dementiev, general director of JSC Khiagda.
The issues of further work under the agreement were discussed at the meeting, including the creation of ring power circuit of Bauntovsky district and the possibility of laying a fiber-optic line to Bagdarin village.
Alexei Dementiev also spoke about the achievements in 2014 and future production plans of JSC Khiagda: "The main landmark is the completion of construction and installation works and the launch of comprehensive testing of the main production facility. Commencement of commercial operation of the main facility will enable us to confidently increase uranium production. Acidification of the third deposit of Khiagda field has already started; we are getting prepared for the development of Istochnoye and Vershinnoye fields, to start in 2015. Next year we plan to complete construction of sulfuric acid production facility. Hopefully, in 2018 we will be able to fully load the new equipment to produce the designed amount of 1,000 tons of uranium per year."
