Celebration marking the Miner's Day, the main holiday of the Russia’s “uranium capital” Krasnokamensk, started in the city and at PJSC PIMCU, the city’s backbone enterprise.
A traditional meeting between the management of ARMZ Uranium Holding and PIMCU and industry veterans was held in "Dauria" Palace of Culture. "One of the largest enterprises in the world emerged in Trans-Baikal steppe by efforts of these people, and we can say that they are still in the service. We come to you for advice, and you are our senior mentors. Today your children and grandchildren are working at PIMCU. I promise that your great-grandchildren will work there as well," these were the words of gratitude and greetings from the General Director of PIMCU Sergey Shurygin.
Before the festive concert, the veterans heard firsthand about the prospects of further development of Krasnokamensk and its backbone enterprise. The questions of the audience were responded by General Director of ARMZ Uranium Holding Vladimir Verkhovtsev and Deputy Director General for Special Projects of ARMZ Uranium Holding Vladimir Vysotsky.
The management of JSC Atomredmetzoloto and PIMCU took part in solemn meetings at the production units: underground uranium mines, Urtuyskoe Mine Office, and a separate paramilitary rescue squad. The best workers received acknowledgments from Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, ARMZ Uranium Holding and PIMCU awards, presented by the management itself.
A member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Stepan Zhiryakov also arrived to congratulate Krasnokamensk residents on the holiday; by the way, Mr. Zhiryakov was awarded the Orders of "Miner's Glory" of three degrees while working in the mining industry. "I am particularly pleased to congratulate on the Miner’s Day those who, like me, consider mining to be their lifework. I'm positive about the brilliant prospects of Krasnokamensk and make every effort to ensure the best conditions for the development of the Russian uranium mining industry and PIMCU as its flagship," in particular, said Stepan Zhiryakov.
Stepan Zhiryakov, Vladimir Verkhovtsev and Sergey Shurygin opened a new mess hall in Urtuyskoe Mine Office. It has 76 seats, so all the staff of Urtuyskoe Mine Office and motor transport department will be able to dine here when working in shifts.
In the evening on August 28, a gala concert will be held in "Dauria" Palace of Culture, and on August 29 the traditional parade of labor groups of PIMCU, enterprises and organizations in Krasnokamensk will be held on Stroiteley avenue.
