ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. and the Town Administration Summed up the Results of the Fourth Grant Competition among Krasnokamensk Social Entrepreneurs
Financial support for a total amount of 2.4 mln rubles was earmarked to 20 socially significant projects.
Financial support to the best socially-oriented projects in Krasnokamensk has been provided every year since 2014. A distinctive feature of the current competition is that non-profit organizations and volunteers, in addition to small and medium-sized businesses, were given the opportunity to become grant holders.
A total of 28 applications have been submitted within a month. At the summing up ceremony, the contestants presented their projects to the board chaired by Olga Kanunnikova, Deputy Head of the Krasnokamensk Administration. Presentations were made by representatives of the Krasnokamensk Social and Rehabilitation Center for Minors Dobrota (Kindness), the Territorial Hospital No. 4, the Mining College, the Town Branch of the Society for the Disabled, individual entrepreneurs. Their initiatives related to purchasing means of rehabilitation for the disabled and promenade wheelchairs, optimizing the functional areas of health care institutions, making actor’s costumes for creative teams, fighting against terrorism, improving the town territory, etc. Their names sound eloquently: “From Heart to Heart”, “We are for a Clean Town”, “Food for Life”, “Give Them Childhood”, “Let’s Speak Correctly”, “Helping Hand”, “Do Good”, “In the World of Beauty”, “I See my Life in Sports”, etc.
The winners were ten projects presented by non-profit organizations and municipal institutions, seven projects proposed by individual entrepreneurs, and three projects submitted by volunteers. It is noteworthy that all the volunteers, who wish to help others, are employees of the Priargunskoye Mining and Chemical Production Association. Their projects are aimed at supporting low-income families and organizing leisure activities for children staying in the Regional Children’s Sanatorium for the treatment of tuberculosis. Each winning project will receive a grant for the amount of fifty to two hundred thousand rubles.
According to Olga Donskaya, the Director of the Town Small Business Support Foundation, “Thanks to the program of the ARMZ Uranium Holding, the Krasnokamensk District creates new jobs and services that are necessary for people. It’s very important that the elaboration quality of business plan is improving every year. People are actively looking for interesting areas to try their hand, new opportunities for development.” She also noted that the social entrepreneurs of the Krasnokamensk District are invited every year to take full advantage of all support measures, including those provided by the State and various foundations.
