Implementing Investment Program - New Equipment for PIMCU, PJSC
Two bulldozers, an excavator and two front loaders started to work at the Urtuisky brown-coal strip mine. In addition, a new express coal-chemistry laboratory, a thermal imager and an ore control station have been put into operation at the mine, while the railway workshop has started using a shunting road-rail traction module (locomobile).
The priority task that is performed at the mine with the new equipment involved is the continuous coal supply for the crushing and sorting facilities. The quality control of the shipped products, including calorific value, is also to be improved. "The fleet renovation should result in a 20% increase in the productivity of the crushing and sorting plants. Currently, we crush approximately 80,000 tons of coal per month, with our goal being a growth up to 100,000 tons and more," says Vyacheslav Koshevoy, Director of the Urtuiskoye Mine Administration.
Moreover, the PIMCU fleet of the in-house equipment has been reinforced as part of the investment program and the PD-2EM upgraded loading and unloading tool is currently undergoing the factory acceptance tests. The tool’s design with no hydrostatic transmission allows for the higher reliability and reduced operating costs.
