ROSATOM’s Power is in People
On April 25 the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army hosted a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners in the industry nominations of 2017 Rosatom Person of the Year competition. The aim of the awards in the industry nominations is to recognize the best workers in the industry and their professional achievements at the highest level.
“This year the awards committee received 155 applications – 25% more than in the previous years,” comments HR director Stanislav Anikeev. - It is a proof of the great acclaim and prestige of the competition. After all, the Atomic Oscar goes to the best of the best - those who make a really significant contribution to the development of the industry.”
The awards were given in three areas - divisional, general corporate and special nominations of the Director General of Rosatom State Corporation.
In line with tradition, the winners in the divisional nominations were congratulated by Vladimir Verkhovtsev, Director General of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. He handed out the awards to the winners in the following nominations: Hydrometallurgy Equipment Operator - Ivan Chumakov (Khiagda, JSC), Stope Miner - Viktor Kargin (PIMCU, PJSC), Geotechnical Drill Operator - Eduard Ovchinnikov (Khiagda, JSC), and Drilling Machine Operator - Alexey Mingazov (PIMCU, PJSC).
“Never have I met such brave, courageous, responsible people as those in the mining division. Thank you for your work and for your unselfish service to the Fatherland”, - said Vladimir Verkhovtsev.
Out of 26 nominees (from ARMZ) in the general corporate nominations three ARMZ representatives were awarded an honorable third place. Irina Shamina - in the nomination of Management of Economics, Finance and Investments, Alena Basenko - Personnel Management and Sergey Zavalishin - Legal Support, Corporate Property Complex Management. The awards committee noted the winners’ personal achievements, such as Irina Shamina’s Rosatom Production System project “Improving the Efficiency of Investment and Project Activities” which resulted in a significant reduction of process lead times. Alena Basenko was awarded for forming and leading a team of young high potential employees which carried out successful promotional activities for the company's brand.
“I think that my greatest accomplishment was the formation of an effective team focused on the professional performance of work tasks, making informed decisions when assessing all sorts of risks. The power of Rosatom is in people”, - commented Sergey Zavalishin on his victory.
The Atomic Oscar for the third place in the Rising Star nomination went to Alexander Mikhaylovsky for his contribution to the development and implementation of the cost optimization programs that helped to reduce the production cost of uranium by RUB 69 million.
The second place in the One Step Ahead nomination was given to the team led by Oleg Isyanov for the development of the Smart Mine project - the harbinger of digital in-situ leaching projects. The team organized a competence center for geological and mathematical modeling of uranium deposits, created digital models of reserves, developed intelligent mining management methods. The team included representatives of Atomredmetzoloto JSC, PIMCU PJSC, Khiagda JSC, Dalur JSC, RUSBURMASH JSC and MEPhI National Research Nuclear University.
