Vladimir Verkhovtsev, Director General of ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. Chaired Working Meeting on Infrastructure Development of Mine 6 at PIMCU, PJSC
The meeting took place at the construction site of the main step-down substation (MSDS), which will supply the whole complex of mine No. 6 with electricity. “The facility readiness for today is 95%. There is no analogue of such modern MSDS in the Trans-Baikal Territory,” said the project manager Vladimir Sergeev, Deputy Director General for capital construction of PIMCU, PJSC.
Up to date, a building of a separate control unit has been erected and two TDTN 40000/110-7HL-1 transformers and supports of interfacility overhead circuits have been installed at the construction site. “The largest outdoor switchyard (SWYD 110) is ready; in the nearest future, installation of two more 35 kV and 6 kV switchyards will commence. The construction is far advance,” said Alexander Glotov, Director General of PIMCU, PJSC.
Vladimir Verkhovtsev estimated the construction progress of a new road to the facilities of mine No. 6. This road inter alia will be used to transport the ore to the hydrometallurgical plant. “Summer in the Trans-Baikal Territory is very short, therefore, the road equipment works almost nonstop in order to finish laying the hard surface during the warm season; works are carried out 24/7,” reported Victor Talovskikh, Chief Engineer of Atomspecstroy, LLC.
The length of the road is 1.1 km. According to the plan, the construction is to be completed in November 2018.
The participants of the working meeting corrected the action plan for the nearest future. “There is still a lot of work to do. Following the main step-down substation and the road, we will start the construction of mine water disposal facilities. The government allocated funds for the development of infrastructure. Our task is to carry out the work at an accelerated pace, to maintain the schedule,” said Vladimir Verkhovtsev.
Let’s recall that the first stage of mine No. 6 is to be put into operation in 2023
