PIMCU, PJSC, Largest Uranium Mining Company of Russia Bears the Name of Efim Slavsky Starting Today
The order on naming PIMCU, PJSC after the legendary Minister of Medium Machine-Building Industry of the USSR was signed by the Director General of ARMZ Uranium Holding/Mining Division of ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation Vladimir Verkhovtsev. The name of E. Slavsky was given to the Union “to mark the 50th anniversary and for achieving high production and social and economic indicators in developing the nuclear industry, for striving to work with the greatest impact for the benefit of the country with concern for the increase in labor productivity and production efficiency”.
A solemn meeting dedicated to the historic event was held in Krasnokamensk near the building of the administration of the Union, on the facade of which there the inscription “E. Slavsky PIMCU” appeared. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of PIMCU, PJSC Vladimir Vysotsky began his speech with gratitude to the veterans who gathered from all corners of Russia to celebrate the 50th anniversary: “The veteran organizations of the Union and Uranium Holding put forward with the initiative to name PIMCU after Efim Slavsky. Feats of the labor of pioneer constructors and veterans will forever remain for us a standard of work, a beacon to achieve desired goals”. He also recalled that the order to build Priargunsky Mining and Chemical Works 50 years ago was signed by E. Slavsky, that the Minister of Medium Machine-Building Industry of the USSR personally supervised all the issues of creating the largest uranium mining enterprise and the city of Krasnokamensk in the Trans-Baikal plains, therefore this name is firmly connected with PIMCU.
The Veteran of Labor, the Full Cavalier of the Badge of Honor “Miner’s Glory” Stanislav Denisovich, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Trade Union of Nuclear Power and Industry Workers Yury Borisov and the Head of PIMCU from 2003 to 2007 Valery Golovin recalled of their meetings with E. Slavsky, who visited Krasnokamensk almost every year. The Member of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Full Cavalier of the Badge of Honor “Miner’s Glory” Stepan Zhiryakov and other honored guests delivered congratulations to the veterans and workers of PIMCU.
“Every year, every day, every hour the miners of Krasnokamensk make a huge contribution to the development of the Russian nuclear industry through their work. As in the past fifty years, we will fulfill all the goals set and will bear proudly the name of the great man — Efim Slavsky,” said the Director General of E. Slavsky PIMCU, PJSC Alexander Glotov.
The solemn meeting ended with the opening of the commemorative plaque of E. Slavsky on the facade of the administration of the Union.
