50 Accomplishments of PIMCU

  1. February 20th, 1968. Decree of the USSR Council of Ministers No. 108-31 on the initiation of Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Integrated Works (PIMCIW) for the industrial development of uranium and uranium-molybdenum deposits at the Streltsovsky uranium ore fields discovered in the Trans-Baikal Territory in 1963 (the date of the PIMCIW initiation).
  2. January 20th, 1968. Builders completed the first entrance of Krasnokamensk multi-apartment house No. 102.
  3. June 19th, 1968. PIMCIW received an engineering assignment for a power plant.
  4. September, 1968. PIMCIW saw the creation of Mine No. 1 with N.N. Demchenko as its Manager.
  5. December 11th, 1968. PIMCIW built a mine rescue squad.
  6. January, 1969. PIMCIW created Mine No. 3 on the Tulukui uranium field.
  7. April, 1969. PIMCIW received the first BelAZ mining dump trucks. Excavator operator A. Chertopyatov excavated the first bucket of uranium ore at the Tulukui quarry.
  8. November 27th, 1969. The first boiler plant was put into operation to supply heat to Krasnokamensk residential buildings and industrial facilities under construction.
  9. November, 1969. Mine No. 1 produced the first ton of uranium ore despite the challenging working environment.
  10. November 10th, 1969. PIMCIW created the Central Laboratory of Instrumentation and Automatic Controls (the Instrumentation Central Laboratory).
  11. Year of 1969. A 150-kilometer railway section was put into operation to connect Krasnokamensk and the Kharanor station.
  12. Year of 1970. PIMCIW saw the creation of a machine computation station (later renamed into the Kustovoy Computer Center, or KCC).
  13. August, 1970. The first ton of uranium-molybdenum ore was extracted at the Tulukui field.
  14. August, 1970. Krasnokamensk received a railway shop.
  15. September, 1970. Mine No.3 commenced underground work at its 4R mine shaft at the Novogodniy, Yubileiny, and Vessenniy fields to be a site of future Mine No. 4.
  16. Year of 1971. They completed the first stage of the Tulukui quarry construction project and commenced the mine stripping in the second-stage circuit.
  17. June 6th, 1971. PIMCIW created the Central Research Laboratory.
  18. January, 1972. PIMCIW established the Shaft-Sinking Department (SSD).
  19. January, 1972. They commenced the construction of hydro and sulfuric acid facilities at the uranium ore processing plant.
  20. December, 1972. Krasnokamensk launched a cogeneration plant.
  21. February 13th, 1973. The first passenger train started running between the Urulyungui station and Krasnokamensk.
  22. Year of 1974. PIMCIW reached the design capacity at the Tulukuevskoye U deposit (Tulukui quarry) (i.e., 600 thousand tons of uranium ore per annum).
  23. February, 1975. PIMCIW produced the first ton of sulfuric acid.
  24. April, 1976. PIMCIW leach plant produced the first batch of finished triuranium octoxide (U3O8) products.
  25. Year of 1976. PIMCIW achieved the first milestone of its construction projects.
  26. Year of 1976. The GRE-324 exploration team discovered the Urtuysky brown coal deposit.
  27. February 24th, 1976. Pursuant to the Decree of the USSR Presidium of the Supreme Soviet, Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Integrated Works were awarded the Order of Red Banner of Labor for the great strides made in the exploitation of new capacities and production of specialized products.
  28. Year of 1976. They commenced excavations at the Antey deposit (the Vostochny Mine).
  29. Year of 1979. PIMCIW geologists together with GRE-324 discovered new (Argunskoye and Zherlovoye) uranium-molybdenum deposits on the flanks of the ore field.
  30. September, 1979. PIMCIW commenced underground mining operations at Mine No. 4 to excavate field reserves of the Novogodniy, Yubileiny, and Vessenniy fields.
  31. November 28th, 1980. Pursuant to the Decree of the USSR Presidium of the Supreme Soviet, Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Integrated Works were awarded the Order of Lenin, while PIMCIW Director S. Pokrovsky was awarded the title of the Hero of Socialist Labor. It happened in parallel with the awarding of the PROMNIIPROEKT State Engineering and Research Institute for the achievements in the creation and prompt exploitation of the large-scale specialized production facilities.
  32. Year of 1981. They discovered the Maly Tulukui uranium-molybdenum deposit at the Streltsovsky ore field.
  33. Year of 1981. PIMCIW contributed to the construction of the ERDES mining enterprise in Mongolia.
  34. Year of 1982. PIMCIW launched a sensor-based ore sorting (SBOS) plant.
  35. November 13th, 1984. PIMCIW opened the Dauria Community Center in Krasnokamensk.
  36. Year of 1985. PIMCIW reached the maximum possible uranium output of more than 5 thousand tons per annum.
  37. Year of 1986. PIMCIW commenced the development of the Urtuysky opencast brown coal mine.
  38. Year of 1986. PIMCIW reached the maximum extraction of uranium and uranium-molybdenum ores (2,867 thousand tons per annum).
  39. Year of 1986. The Shaft-Sinking Department reached its peak performance with 1,000-meter of vertical shaft sinking and 72.5 thousand cubic meters of capital mining operations.
  40. Year of 1987. PIMCIW reached the maximum output of by-product molybdenum (more than 600 tons per annum).
  41. August 24th, 198 They excavated the first bucket of coal at the Urtuysky opencast brown coal mine.
  42. Year of 1996. Krasnokamensk got the first issue of the Gornyak Digest (now the Gornyak Priargunya newspaper).
  43. Year of 1996. PIMCIW completed excavations at the Tulukuevskoye U deposit (Tulukui quarry) to extract 15 million 881 thousand tons of uranium ore.
  44. Year of 2007. Sergey Kirienko, Director General of the ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation, took his first visit to PIMCU, JSC.
  45. June 17th, 2009. PIMCU launched a new sulfuric acid plant with a capacity of 180 thousand tons per year.
  46. Year of 2011. Sergey Kirienko, Director General of the ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation, ceremonially delivered keys to apartments in the last of the six houses, which had been built under the Oktyabrsky resettlement project.
  47. Year of 2011.PIMCU deployed the ROSATOM Production System.
  48. December 14th, 2012. PIMCU put into operation the first-stage section of Mine No.8.
  49. March 13th, 2018. PIMCU commenced the construction of Mine No.6.
  50. Year of 2018. At its 50th anniversary, PIMCU was renamed into E.P. Slavsky Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union, PJSC* and its team was awarded the E.P. Slavsky insignia badge of the ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation.
